Koh Samui is the largest island on the East Coast of Thailand, located some 80km off the coast of Surat Thani, about 700km from Bangkok. Being the third largest island in Thailand, a mountain ridge runs from east to west and most of the hinterland comprises of forested hills. Besides fishing, cultivation of coconuts is the main source of livelihood for the islanders shipping some two million numbers a month to Bangkok. These are reputed to be the best in the country. Quaint local villages and coconut plantations are still very much in evidence, especially in the south of the island, and most people continue to live by island time, having no sense of urgency. Having an oasis of natural beauty, with its fine, sandy beaches, dazzling coral, luscious lagoons, picturesque waterfalls, swaying coconut trees and crystal clear water, its laid back lifestyle and reggae bars amidst crafters selling their intricate handiwork, gives you everything you want in an island holiday.
A mountainous journey to discover the wondrous waterfalls amidst the lush fauna of the interiors of Samui, leading you to the borders where the sea separates the island from land. The tour takes you to both extremes, a combination of fresh air in the highlands to the crystal clear waters with fringing fine, white sandy beaches, giving you the best of both worlds in one. The remarkable communication between the Mahout (elephant pilot) and the elephant would leave you in awe.
